GINEVRA (GENEVA) – Senior Project Manager/PMO Coach – GINEVRA, Ginevra
PROJECT CONTEXT AND SCOPE
- A Senior Project Manager will be part of the initiative called Project Management Centre of Excellence (PM CoE), Department of Information Management and Technology (IMT) that will launch activities to institutionalize the culture of Project Management in an Institutional UN Agency.
ROLE AND RESPPONSABILITIES
- As a key member of this team, the Candidate will need to perform two roles:
- 1) A Senior Project Manager to perform management of several projects in the portfolio of PM CoE.
- The Candidate will be responsible for simultaneously managing scope, time, and resources across a number of projects at a time.
- S/he will assist the Head of the PM CoE in launching and managing initiatives.
- 2) A PMO Coach who will advise project managers on process, governance, and approaches to mitigate risks.
- S/he will regularly and strictly review the compliance to PM standards of all IT project managers and monitor the progress of each project in the department’s portfolio
- His/Her reporting line is as follows:
- 1st level supervisor: Lead, Project Management Centre of Excellence
- 2nd level supervisor: Head of the Project Management Office and Administration
REQUIREMENTS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
- At least 7 years of recent professional experience in PM Planning, management and successful delivery of complex cross functional or interdependent projects, some of which should be at the global or international level.
- Of which, 5 years of which is successfully implementing IT projects with a wide end-user base.
- Demonstrated professional experience working with senior-level management.
- Proven experience in writing business plans, project-related documentation, or technical papers.
- Experience in facilitating workshops, presentations to senior stake holders and managing change in a federated (decentralized) organization
- Expert knowledge in English (verbal and written)
- Basic knowledge in French is desirable but not mandatory
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc)
- MS SharePoint, MS Visio, MS Project (desirable but not mandatory)
ENGAGEMENT CONDITIONS
- Project to be staffed after a selection of Resumes (1st phase) + Interviews (2nd phase)
- Time of engagement: 6 months, starting mid-June 2017
- Potential continuation in 2018
- Work-load: 80-100% (week base)
- Location: Ginevra (Geneva)
- Compensation: daily rate + expenses on top
